On Saturday, the 1st of June 2019 a team of 5 riders will participate in the Carten100 Cycle Challenge on behalf of Chemical Corporation (UK) Ltd.
CARTEN100 is a ‘not for profit’ fund-raising venture, run by volunteers to benefit chosen charities as much as possible. The CARTEN100 cycle ride takes place over a ten hour period from Cardiff to Tenby. The main aim is to get people on their bikes and this benefits both riders and the nominated charities.
Monies are raised from direct sponsorship for company logos on the cycling shirts and the CARTENers getting sponsored individually per mile. Carten100 has raised over a million pounds so far.
The ride takes a fairly direct route from Cardiff to Tenby, using A and B Roads and cycle routes. There are some interesting climbs as Wales is not a flat country but none are too difficult.
CARTEN100 is not a race, but a fun day out with more experienced riders helping and encouraging those who have less experience and confidence. Each year, riders return fitter and keener and on newer, better bikes but they bring their friends, family and work colleagues with them to enjoy the challenge.
